The headpiece in The Last Human was crafted by hand, using no formal technique or structure — only instinct and intention. Yusif Khalilov created it by sewing and connecting wires together, shaping them thread by thread into an intricate form. Up close, the construction reveals a chaotic complexity — layers of tension, curves, and intersections. But from a distance, it becomes a singular, minimal shape — as if all that disorder finds quiet harmony in the final view. This contrast between complexity and simplicity mirrors the human experience itself.
Each artwork in The Last Human collection is built around a single dominant color — red, black, grey, blue, green, violet, brown, and others — with each tone symbolizing a distinct setting or emotional state in the imagined journey of the last human. These colors are not random; they are emotional codes. Red stands for survival and urgency, black for isolation, grey for silence, blue for memory, green for hope, violet for transformation, brown for grounding. Every shade holds a story, and together they form a visual language that speaks of presence, loss, resilience, and the quiet poetry of existence. The artworks in The Last Human collection come in different sizes, ranging from 50 x 50 cm to 160 x 120 cm. Each size was chosen deliberately to reflect a social position or stage in the last human’s journey. The physical dimensions are not just measurements — they are metaphors for presence, importance, and circumstance. Smaller works suggest moments of solitude or inner struggle, while the larger pieces represent influence, visibility, or emotional vastness. Together, the varying scales map the shifting physical and social landscapes of the last human’s existence. The collection is composed of nine pieces, each born in a different moment, place, and emotional state. Every work holds its own story — shaped by the atmosphere in which it was created, the people around it, and the silence between thoughts. These are not just artworks; they are fragments of time, carrying hidden meanings, symbols, and the weight of presence. Each piece invites the viewer to pause, feel, and reflect.
