In the Land of Sakura 2025

Photographer: ANNA Salminen
Model: YUSIF Khalilov
Partner: Interplant

The LAND of SAKURA project is a self-portrait inspired by Japanese culture. In this artwork, Yusif is portrayed seated to symbolize the present, wearing a traditional Japanese-style hat made from INTERPLANT Spray Roses. The flowers are not just decoration — they represent beauty, care, and the idea that nothing stays the same forever. By placing himself inside the artwork, the artist becomes part of the story, mixing personal identity with cultural inspiration.

Within this breathtaking work, Yusif Khalilov shows a solitary figure resting on a vintage golden sofa. Dressed fully in black, the figure feels grounded and still, while a crown of his favourite roses, named “MEDIA Spray Roses”, forms a perfect rectangle above his head. The scene sits between reality and dream, turning a simple room into a quiet reflection on creativity, identity, and the beauty of thinking differently and stepping outside convention.

By placing these coveted objects within a living floral sculpture, Yusif challenges the traditional context of high fashion, transforming it into wearable art. This project was created by Yusif Khalilov for Royal Coster Diamonds, one of the oldest diamond polishing factories in the world. In this artistic collaboration, Yusif integrated real diamonds into floral headpieces — blending nature’s beauty with timeless luxury. The composition combines delicate florals such as ranunculus, calla lilies, and garden roses with elegant diamond jewelry, forming a regal and poetic harmony. The final photos were exhibited on Museumplein in Amsterdam, one of the city’s most iconic public spaces, making this project not only visually striking but also a public celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and floral innovation. It stood as a symbol of elegance, where flowers and diamonds together became a new language of art.

Orange 2024

Model: YUSIF Khalilov
Partners: CLAUDINE Morsen & Interplant Roses

In this bold and unforgettable piece, Yusif Khalilov presents an iconic vision of floral surrealism — dressing the human form entirely in vibrant orange roses, from face to frame. Created for a special fashion show event in Amsterdam, this project redefines how we view flowers in art, no longer as soft embellishments but as a powerful sculptural medium. The faceless figure, fully cloaked in blooms, becomes a walking symbol — a statement that flowers can carry identity, emotion, and avant-garde presence. With this work, Yusif continues to shape a new narrative: where floristry enters the world of high art and conceptual fashion.

Leila Rose 2024

Photographer: WIM van Wel
Model: KATJA van Waveren
Partners: Vicky Foundation & Interplant Roses

In this visually striking work, Yusif Khalilov uses Leila Roses — known for their delicate pink-lavender hue — to create an immersive floral frame that blurs the line between portraiture and botanical art. This significant project reflects Yusif’s ongoing vision: to elevate flowers beyond decoration and into the realm of storytelling. By surrounding the face in hundreds of blooms and having the model gaze through a single rose, he invites viewers to see the world through beauty — soft, layered, and deeply symbolic. A moment where floristry meets fine art.

Bed 2023

Photographer: MARYNA Khomenko
Model: YNIA
Partners: Art Photo Project & Interplant Roses

In his signature out-of-the-box style, Yusif Khalilov transforms an ordinary garden into a cinematic dreamscape by placing a bed at its heart — not for rest, but for storytelling. Draped in soft blues and surrounded by pastel florals, birdcages, books, and candlelight, the scene becomes a poetic escape. It’s a place where fantasy meets reality, where nature becomes a bedroom and imagination is the only rule. Every element was intentionally styled to blur the boundaries between indoors and out, logic and emotion, sleep and awakening.

Created in Smaragdplein, Amsterdam, this installation by Yusif Khalilov gave a second life to roses from a previous flower event. Through this meditative floral intervention, the ordinary became sacred — walls bloomed, silence spoke, and the forgotten flowers were reborn as art. A celebration of transformation, presence, and the power of nature to reconnect us.

Red 2023

Wrapped in red petals and scrolling through the present — Yusif Khalilov draws inspiration from Doja Cat’s iconic Met Gala look and reimagines it in a regal, floral twist. A clash of elegance, irony, and digital culture, where luxury meets the surreal. This is not just fashion — it’s performance in bloom.

Survivors 2023

The Wall 2022

Photographer: KSENIIA Beekhuis
Model: ANNA Psy
Partners: Art Photo Project & WARJA Abrosimova

This project is very dear to Yusif Khalilov, as it represents a community art initiative dedicated to the neighborhood of Smaragdplein in the urban area of De Pijp. The artwork was created when Yusif decided to give a second life to roses that had already been used in a flower presentation event, where companies showcased their products. He revived these flowers through a community project that gave them new meaning and purpose. It became a turning point for the neighborhood — a moment where residents came together, took photos, and celebrated the beauty of this living art masterpiece.

Futuristic Tropics 2022

Photographer: MARGARET Tarasenko
Model: ANNA Psy & YUSIF Khalilov

This photo was taken in a historic building on Prins Hendrikkade in Amsterdam — a place deeply connected to the Dutch maritime past, where ships once departed to explore the world. This image bridges eras, blending the weight of history with a bold vision of the future. It stands as a statement: art evolves, but its roots remain. A scene born in one of Amsterdam’s most storied buildings — where the past once sailed across oceans, and now, the future of art rises in light and bloom.
